This is not a mistake. This is how the logic behind the exchange of mounts in New Heim works.

You do not crossbreed animals, but exchange one for another. Therefore, it may be that in return for several wolves or even bears, you will receive a horse. Likewise, vice versa, when you exchange horses, you have a chance to get a bear.
